Although breast reduction cosmetic surgery is a common and safe procedure, it is still a major surgery that warrants some recovery time. Patients who choose to undergo this procedure should be familiar with what to expect during recovery so that they can prepare in advance for the healing phase.
The surgeon will discuss the recovery aspects with the patient during the initial consultation. Considerate, innovative, and board certified female plastic surgeon Dr. Kristi Hustak provides breast reduction surgery to patients in Houston, Texas, and surrounding locations.
A certain amount of bruising and swelling can be expected in the early phase of breast reduction plastic surgery recovery. A moisturizer may be applied on the breasts to mitigate itching and dryness, but it should not be used directly on the incision sites. Patients should diligently follow all post-operative instructions from the surgeon to reduce the risk of complications and enable a faster recovery.
For the initial two or three days post the breast reduction procedure, the patient should wear an elastic bandage or a specialized surgical bra over the gauze dressing.
After the gauze and dressing are taken off, the patient will be required to continue wearing the surgical bra for several weeks. Stitches are usually removed within one or two weeks of the surgery
Surgeons advise breast reduction surgery patients to avoid lifting heavy weights or engage in rigorous physical activity for a few weeks post-surgery. A majority of women (depending on their nature of work) can return to their workplace within a period of 10 to 14 days after the surgery. Patients are advised to refrain from sexual activity for a minimum of one to two weeks as sexual arousal can induce swelling around the incisions.
Any contact with the breast area should be cautious and gentle for 4 to 6 weeks after the breast reduction procedure. Patients should know that the breasts can swell and become tender during the first menstrual cycle following the surgery. Additionally, some women may experience occasional pain for the first several months which is more pronounced during menstruation. The surgeon can recommend pain medicines to relieve the symptoms and make the recovery comfortable.
Changes in sensation of the breast skin and nipple are common but temporary side effects of the breast reduction surgery. Some women may experience hypersensitivity in the breast area while others may feel numbness in the breast and nipple for up to one year after the surgery. The changes in sensation may be permanent in some patients.
The breast tissue is substantially disrupted during this surgery, and it may take up to one year before the inflammation is completely resolved.
Scars caused by the breast reduction surgery can be lumpy and reddish for some time before they subside into thin, white lines. Typically, incisions are placed in discreet places allowing patients to wear low-cut tops and swimwear. The appearance of scars due to breast reduction depends on the method used.

While breast reduction cosmetic surgery is one of the safer cosmetic procedures, it is still essential that the patient should be aware of the possible risks and complications involved.
Unfavorable reaction to anesthesia, risks pertaining to infections, asymmetry, and uneven nipple height are some of the potential complications associated with this surgery.
However, the advantages will typically outweigh the risks of breast reduction surgery in a majority of the cases. At the time of the pre-operative consultation, the breast surgeon will explain the safety and risks associated with breast reduction surgery. The primary goal of a dedicated surgeon will be to assist the patient in making an informed choice.
Board certified female plastic surgeon Dr. Kristi Hustak provides breast reduction surgery to patients in Houston, Texas, and surrounding communities.
After the breast reduction plastic surgery, the breasts may appear asymmetrical in a few cases. This risk can be reduced significantly is the patient selects a skilled and experienced surgeon. The occurrence of asymmetrical breasts can be rectified in a revision surgery later.
Patients should understand that natural breasts are not entirely symmetrical anyway. Minor variations in the look of the breasts are normal, and should not warrant a revision surgery.
The size and shape of the breasts will change during a breast reduction surgery and some of the breast skin will be shifted during the procedure. Therefore, the position of the nipple will most likely get altered after the reduction.
In certain cases, the nipple is detached and grafted to a new site on the breast. But even if the nipples stay attached, the breast skin will excised to fit smaller sized breasts. The nipple height can become irregular in both these situations.
Breast reduction surgery can cause a temporary loss of sensation in the incision sites. This risk heightens when the nipple is detached and grafted to another location. In breast reduction procedures that do not involve grafting, the change in sensation is minimal, and usually temporary. Nipple grafting should always be performed by a skilled and experienced surgeon.
It may not be possible for a woman to breastfeed after breast reductions surgery. The degree of the risk of breastfeeding impairment will depend on the surgical method used. The anchor pattern breast reduction technique increases the risk of breastfeeding impairment. Many milk ducts are eliminated in this procedure which can make breastfeeding challenging in the future.
Vertical Incision breast reduction method will reduce the chances of breastfeeding impairment. Some part of the nipple remains connected to the milk ducts in this technique. In case the patient has more fatty tissue and less glandular tissue, the surgery can be conducted using liposuction. This method significantly reduces the risk of breastfeeding impairment.
The risk of infection and poor reaction to anesthesia are risks common to any surgery, including breast reduction. Breast reduction cosmetic surgery is one of the popular procedures today among women who want to create more proportionately sized and shapely breasts.
At the time of pre-operative consultation, the surgeon will educate the patient about various aspects of breast reduction, and help her make a well-considered choice.
Some surgeons may also provide breast reduction before and after photographs at the first appointment. This will help the patient understand the effectiveness of the surgery in a better way. Terrific and board certified female plastic surgeon Dr. Kristi Hustak provides breast reduction to patients in Houston, Texas and surrounding communities.
Before and after images in case of breast reduction refer to a pair or group of pictures belonging to an earlier patient who has been through the same procedure with satisfactory results. The pictures include images taken prior to the surgery and after the surgery at a stage when post-surgical swelling and bruising has been resolved and new shape of the breasts is firmed up.
The surgeon will take care to obtain these images with the consent of the patient and present them in a discreet way before new patients.
The patient’s identity will be kept confidential as per the standard protocol. The surgeon’s only goal here is to educate new patients about various aspects of breast reduction. Before and after pictures serve as a useful visual aid to show clearly to a new patient what a breast reduction plastic surgery can or cannot do for them.
Breast reduction surgery can be performed using different techniques, depending on the needs of a patient. A new patient may have apprehensions about how the procedure will impact her overall breast appearance and body profile, and whether it can meet her personal aesthetic goals.
Some women may need only limited reduction, while some others may need significant excisional surgery as well as liposuction. In a few cases, breast reduction may have to be combined with breast lift for more effective results. In each case, the patient can make the best choices when she has access to breast reduction before and after photos.
This is certainly the case here with Dr. Hustak’s awesome website. Any patient can see what to expect with this particular surgery. Now someone can understand what they could be signing up for if they go about doing that.
Any patient can realize what they are contemplating without notifying anyone. They can see these pictures from the shopping mall, airport, or sitting down on their own kitchen table. This means that if they do plan on going through with this procedure they will be less anxious since they will already have a strong idea on how this is going to turn out.
When the patient is less nervous it is better for everyone involved, even the surgeon!
Before a patient goes ahead with a cosmetic procedure such as breast reduction, she should have a positive frame of mind, clear aesthetic goals, and realistic expectations. With the help of breast reduction before and after photos, the surgeon can try to ensure that patient understands clearly what to expect and what not to expect from the procedure. This will minimize the risk of any unnecessary disappointment occurring for the patient at a later stage.
The age of the Internet has been upon us for many years now. It is changed industry after industry and the plastic surgeon industry is certainly one of them. Now patients can see poignant pictures without anyone knowing using the same device they can see art pictures on or a kitchen dish set. Pretty convenient!
The plastic surgeon has an option to provide the digital versions of breast reduction before and after photos on their practice website which is the case here as already indicated. Transparency is vital in this industry as well as so many others. This can allow new patients to access the photos in the privacy of their home or office, and then choose whether they want to visit the surgeon’s office for a personal breast reduction consultation.

Reduction mammaplasty, popularly known as breast reduction, is a cosmetic surgery procedure designed to reduce the size and volume of breasts to make them more proportionate with the rest of the body.
While the procedure is primarily performed for aesthetic reasons, it can also address back, neck and shoulder pain and other medical problems for some patients.
Breast reduction is sometimes combined with breast lift or tummy tuck, or may be a part of a mommy makeover surgery. Stellar, judicious, and board certified female plastic surgeon Dr. Kristi Hustak provides breast reduction to patients in Houston, Texas and surrounding locations across the horizon.
Women seeking breast reduction should get in touch with a breast surgeon who will evaluate their health condition, breast anatomy and personal aesthetic goals before recommending breast reduction surgery. A suitable candidate would typically have one or more of the following attributes:
Breast reduction plastic surgery procedure may be performed with the patient under local anesthesia and IV sedation or general anesthesia. The surgeon will begin the procedure by creating incisions at discreet locations that have been decided in advance as per the patient’s preferences. Through the incisions, the surgeon will remove excess glandular tissue, fat and skin.
Sometimes, breast reduction may be combined with liposuction, if the patient also has excess fatty tissue in the breasts. Incisions may be made encircling the areola, keyhole shaped, vertical, or anchor shaped, depending on the surgical technique. Underlying breast tissue is reduced and shaped through the incision. Areola size may be reduced and the nipples may also be repositioned to a more youthful location.
Once the overall breast volume and size has been reduced, the surgeon will suture the breast tissue deep inside to provide support to the new shape of breasts. Incisions will be finally closed with sutures or skin adhesive. Incision lines will gradually fade over a period of time.
In the first week, the patient may experience some soreness and pain in the incision sites, which can be managed with prescription pain meds. Most patients will be able to resume their normal routine in about 10 to 14 days after breast reduction surgery. A compression garment or a surgical bra may have to be worn for several weeks to allow the breasts to firm up in their new shape.
Breast reduction results are visible immediately after the procedure. However, the final outcome can be seen only over the next several months as the bruising and swelling resolves completely and the incision lines become thinner. Results of breast reduction are long lasting, as long as the patient keeps her body weight under check.

During the consultation, the surgeon will seek to understand the reasons why the patient wants to undergo vaginal rejuvenation and which aspects of her sexual aesthetics or physical concerns may be bothering her. Some candidates may only be looking for a subtle enhancement of the labia, while some others may require tightening of the vaginal muscles as well.

The mons pubis is a rounded mass of fatty tissue under the skin, which lies over the joint of the pubic bones. It is typically more prominent in women. During pregnancy and weight gain, the mons pubis often becomes excessively large. Following childbirth or weight loss, the mons pubis connective tissue attachments may become loose and begin to sag.
Aging effects can also lead to the mons pubis becoming loose. When the condition becomes severe, it can cause discomfort during urination or sexual activity, and may restrict a woman from wearing certain types of tight clothes. This condition can be corrected with monsplasty cosmetic surgery.
The procedure involves removal of excess fat tissue, sagging skin and tightening of the surrounding tissue to create a shapely and smooth upper vaginal appearance. Remarkable, cutting edge, and board certified female plastic surgeon Dr. Kristi Hustak provides monsplasty to patients in Houston, Texas and other neighborhoods and cities in this area of the country.
A candidate for monsplasty or pubic lift surgery will ideally have the following characteristics:
A monsplasty plastic surgery procedure is designed to lift and tighten the mons pubis area. The procedure may be performed for aesthetic or functional reasons and can result in increased self-confidence, improved sexual satisfaction and healthier urinary function. The procedure involves excision of the pubic skin and fat horizontally at the upper edge of the pubic region.
The surgeon will remove excess fat through the incision to sculpt the mons pubis. Liposuction may be used in some cases to eliminate excess fat tissue. Underlying muscle and tissue are carefully raised, tightened and sculpted to contour the pubic area. The surgeon’s goal is to create a smaller, more natural looking mons pubis.
In many cases, a monsplasty is combined with vaginal rejuvenation, body contouring or tummy tuck surgery. It is also often a part of a mommy makeover. In any case, a pubic lift procedure should ideally be performed by an experienced surgeon who closely understands female sexual anatomy and is able to perform the procedure with accuracy and precision.
An experienced surgeon will customize the mons pubis lift to suit the patient’s unique anatomical and personal cosmetic needs. Profound, proven, and female cosmetic surgeon Dr. Hustak receives patients from Houston, Texas and other suburbs and towns in the southeastern part of this state for monsplasty.
Following the monsplasty procedure, the patient will experience mild discomfort and soreness in the first three to five days. Minor bruising and swelling in the treated sites is expected, which will resolve on its own. If the mons pubis correction involves surgical excision, the patient will go through a downtime of about one week.
Most patients can return to their normal routine or go back to work at this time. Vigorous activities and exercises should be avoided for about three weeks. Swelling will completely resolve in about three months after the surgery.

Childbirth, aging, heredity, and hormonal changes are some of the reasons why the tissue and muscles of the vaginal canal can become lax over the years. Although cosmetic surgery procedures are available to restore vaginal tightness and firmness, but some women may prefer to choose non-surgical treatment options for vaginal rejuvenation.
Advanced technologies based on radio frequency and laser energy can be applied to achieve vaginal rejuvenation without involving surgery. Board certified female plastic surgeon Dr. Kristi Hustak provides cutting edge RF and laser procedures for vaginal rejuvenation to patients in Houston, Texas and surrounding communities and cities in this region of Texas.
Radio frequency or RF based treatment systems can correct vaginal looseness and vulvar sagging without involving plastic surgery. An RF based procedure will deliver controlled and gentle waves of radio frequency in a completely non-invasive way directly to the affected vulvo-vaginal region.
The RF energy penetrates the deeper layers of the tissue and generates the required amount of heat to help tighten the external labia and internal vaginal laxity. The loose tissue will slowly contract to a tighter bundle. The application of heat energy to the underlying tissue will also stimulate the generation of fresh collagen fibers for improved volume.
Results are more natural looking and longer lasting because new collagen will continue to improve the tissue strength and volume from within, and may also support nerve and tissue healing. Therapeutic effects of RF in tissue and muscle healing are extensively documented by researchers.
Laser based treatments for vaginal rejuvenation can be performed using local anesthesia and light sedation. The procedure is typically performed on an outpatient basis. The duration of the treatment may be around one hour, but can vary according to extent of vaginal laxity to be corrected. Both top and bottom walls of the vaginal passage can be treated with laser.
Advanced laser techniques can produce the desired results for vaginal rejuvenation in a minimally invasive way. The laser is used to perform the cutting and dissecting in a highly precise manner. If necessary, the surgeon may use sutures to tighten the vaginal muscles depending on the patient’s aesthetic and anatomical needs.
Following the treatment, a temporary vaginal pack is placed over the treated site and the patient is moved to a recovery room. In about one to two hours, the patient will be ready to leave the surgeon’s office accompanied by a responsible adult who can drive her home.
In addition to improving vaginal and labial laxity, RF and laser based treatments for vaginal rejuvenation can provide other benefits. The internal and external vaginal areas will be moisturized to reduce dryness. Mild stress incontinence in some women may also be addressed with these procedures.
Other advantages include:
