There are pivotal decisions you need to take before having your breast augmentation procedure. You need to consider various variables whether you are looking to improve breast shape, add more volume, or increase their size. Breast implant profile is a major variable when it comes to attaining the right breast shape.
Your cosmetic surgeon will explain the pros and cons of various breast profiles. They will also let you know that different profiles have different effects on different body types. Board certified female plastic surgeon Dr. Kristi Hustak provides breast augmentation to patients in Houston, Texas, and surrounding locations.
High profile implants offer the most dramatic results. They have a narrow base and project more forwards as compared to moderate breast implants. They also have more volume in the upper breast poles. High profile implants are recommended for petite women desiring in a dramatic change in the appearance of their breasts.
A key benefit to these implants is that the side wall adds more height. This in turn reduces the risk of visible breast tissue rippling following your breast augmentation plastic surgery. At the time of your initial consultation, your surgeon will determine your candidacy and recommend the most appropriate type of implants.
Low implant profiles are recommended for women with broad shoulders and chest. They look the most natural and offer only the subtlest forward projection from the chest wall. These implants are best suited to older candidates desiring shape over volume.
Moderate implant profiles offer natural, rounder, and fuller looking results. They work well on women with narrow chests that want natural appearing results. This implant profile doesn’t result in too much forward projection that may look overly done. However, it is enough to offer satisfactory results since it increases the volume and size of the breasts.
Moderate plus profile is a sub-category that is between moderate and high implant profile. Women who have lost volume in their breasts because of aging can benefit from moderate plus profiles, which offers a natural breast appearance.
Women that seek a breast augmentation cosmetic surgery procedure should have realistic expectations about the kind of physique they are looking for. This includes the shape and size of their breasts after the procedure. The implant profile you choose will play a major role in defining the end result. Each profile style lies differently on the breast base to create different results.
Women that have narrow chest walls or base widths may prefer getting a high profile implant while women with broad breast base diameters may opt for low profile implants. Women falling in between may decide either moderate plus or moderate profile to satisfy their volume and projection needs.
Choosing the right profile type along with type and size is important to acquire your expected end results. This makes it important to consult with a qualified surgeon that can help you identify the right breast implants. Is your chin receding from your jawline? Is it weak and recessive leading to a disproportionate facial look and structure? Weak chin that is not proportionate to the upper jaw is medically known as retruded chin. This can be corrected with plastic surgery by an experienced plastic surgeon.
Be prepared to discuss the pros and cons of various chin enhancement surgery options with your surgeon during your consultation. Board certified female plastic surgeon Dr. Kristi Hustak provides chin augmentation surgery to patients in Houston, Texas, and surrounding communities.
The effects of a receding chin can now be reversed with various plastic surgery options. You can make your lower face appear more balanced and improve your overall facial structure significantly.
The most successful cosmetic surgery procedure for correcting a retruded chin is chin implants or chin augmentation plastic surgery. Chin implant is inserted by the female cosmetic surgeon through an incision in the mouth and does not cause any outer scarring. This is among the most common procedure for correcting the appearance of lower mandible or recessive chin.
Sliding chin genioplasty is usually recommended for extreme cases with severe retrogenia. This is when the chin structure and jawline are not defined to a significant extent. This procedure is highly invasive and involves a lengthy recovery period.
Sometimes, liposuction is used to reduce double chin fat. This helps in making the chin appear more protruded. In certain cases, Kybella injections may also be used for creating a stronger and more horizontal looking jawline.
An experienced cosmetic surgeon will identify your aesthetic goals and customize the procedure. Your surgeon will make sure that the best course of action is taken to match your anatomical and aesthetic requirements.
Creating a customized chin implant will require multiple scans or imaging done by your female plastic surgeon. The surgeon will also have a detailed discussion about your aesthetic goals. Your chin implant will then be custom ordered or procured as pre-made prosthesis. This biocompatible silicone implant will be inserted by your surgeon in front of the lower jawbone for a stronger and shapelier chin.
There are other plastic surgery options available apart from chin implant augmentation procedures to enhance your jawline and lower face structure. You can even lengthen your jaw using special plastic surgery techniques. Neck lift, chin liposuction and several other plastic surgery procedures can be used separately or together with chin implants to get the desired results.
There is a misconception that simple mouth exercises can correct your jawline or a weak chin. Unfortunately, this is not the case. Your chin has soft facial tissue and rigid bone structure, which does not allow for any type of considerable change.

Butt augmentation is a cosmetic surgery procedure gaining steady popularity worldwide over the last decade. It involves reshaping and enhancement of your gluteal area resulting in a shapelier buttock contour.
Firmly rounded buttocks are viewed as a symbol of both sensuality and feminism. The most common technique for buttock augmentation for either enlargement or reshaping is through fat grafting also known as the “Brazilian Butt”. The other popular buttock augmentation surgery technique is buttock implants.
Board certified female plastic surgeon Dr. Kristi Hustak provides butt augmentation surgery to patients in Houston, Texas, and surrounding locations.
You should think of getting a butt augmentation procedure in the following situations:
Top benefits of a butt enhancement procedure:
Buttock augmentation is a cosmetic surgery procedure that is primarily performed through autologous fat transfer or gluteal implant surgery.
This is popularly known as the “Brazilian Butt Lift”. The female cosmetic surgeon uses your fatty tissues to augment the shape and design of your buttocks giving it a better more rounded look.
This cosmetic surgery involves liposuction. Suction tubes or “cannulas” are used to remove fatty tissues from abdomen, thighs, and hips. The cosmetic surgeon then injects this fat via syringes attached to the cannulas. Three to five small incisions are made for the fat reinjection, but these are easily hidden.
The cannulas move back and forth constantly ensuring an even fat deposit at multiple levels to redesign the buttocks. Your surgeon will use sutures to close the incisions.
This type of plastic surgery can be performed without reassigning fat. The procedure involves butt implants for providing shape. This is more suitable for flat or depressed buttock shapes. They work well for people with less fatty tissues. However, they are not as effective in enhancing sagging rear ends due to significant weight reduction.
In this plastic surgery procedure, the female plastic surgeon will insert a soft silicone implant in your buttocks with the help of a small incision masked by your buttock crease. A different incision site can also be used, and the relevant details will be provided by your plastic surgeon during the consultation.
The implant is situated below your gluteal muscle but above your pelvic bone. After the plastic surgery is complete sutures are used to close the incisions made. You will be required to wear a compression garment after the surgery. Female cosmetic surgeon Dr. Kristi Hustak receives patients from Houston, Texas, and nearby areas for butt augmentation surgery.

You should consider getting a well-defined jawline structure if you want a balanced and attractive face, whether you are a male or a female. Skilled cosmetic surgeons can place custom-fit biocompatible chin implants for the purpose of adding strength to a recessed or weak chin. This can go a long way in improving your facial harmony.
Genioplasty or chin enhancement surgery helps in improving the contours of jawline, chin, and neck. Your female plastic surgeon will place a chin implant in front of the lower jaw bone to augment the shape and size of the existing chin. This cosmetic surgery allows for a more attractive facial balance in a natural looking way.
Board certified female plastic surgeon Dr. Kristi Hustak provides chin implants to patients in Houston, Texas, and surrounding communities.
You should consider getting a chin implant plastic surgery if you are bothered by your weak or recessed chin and want your facial features to have more balance. This cosmetic surgery can help you attain more confidence in your appearance.
These are a few specific advantages of a chin implant surgery:
Chin implants are solid devices created from silicone or any other biocompatible material. Your female cosmetic surgeon will have the implant molded to fit perfectly around your chin bone. Chin implants differ in contour and size. Your surgeon will help you choose the best implant to provide natural looking results while achieving the desired level of enhancement.
Chin implants are solid in structure and feel similar to the natural chin bone. It is typically impossible to notice this surgery when performed by an experienced plastic surgeon.
The surgery is performed as an outpatient procedure under local or general anesthesia. Your surgeon will place a small and discreet incision inside your mouth or underneath the chin. A space will be created through this incision for the chin implant, which will be molded to your chin bone.
The surgery usually takes about an hour. However, it may take longer if you are having other additional procedures performed as well. Incisions are closed using sutures following the surgery and the sutures may be wrapped in bandages.
This procedure involves quick recovery for most patients. You may be back at your desk within a week of the surgery. Any pain or discomfort is usually minimal and easily treatable by cold compresses or medication. You should avoid strenuous activities and exercises for about three to four weeks after your surgery.
Chin implants are solid, durable medical devices. They are designed to be permanent. Your enhanced chin contour will not be affected by natural aging process. However, extensive trauma to the face can damage an implant and you may require a replacement surgery. Female cosmetic surgeon Dr. Kristi Hustak receives patients from Houston, Texas, and nearby areas for chin implants surgery.

You may appear disproportionate or top-heavy if you have a flat butt. You can achieve a more balanced looking figure by making your lower body appear fuller. Having fuller, curvier, sensuous buttocks is desired by many men and women. It plays a major role in boosting confidence and improving overall appearance.

Board certified female plastic surgeon Dr. Kristi Hustak provides buttock implants to patients in Houston, Texas, and surrounding locations.
Buttocks implants surgery may be considered by those looking to enhance their figure by adding sensuous curvature and volume to their derriere. Ideal candidates for this surgery would have one or more of the following characteristics:
There are several different types of butt implants. You can choose the shape, filling, and surface of the implants. These are a few available options.
Most surgeons recommend using a smooth, round, solid silicone implants for buttocks.
There are several techniques for inserting butt implants. The technique used differs from patient to patient. These are the most common locations where butt implant incisions are made:
Your cosmetic surgeon will carry out the surgery as an outpatient procedure. It is typically performed under local anesthesia. The surgery may take anywhere from 2 to 3 hours depending on the expertise of the surgeon and whether there are any other combined procedures being performed.
The surgery is straightforward, but you can customize it to match your aesthetic goals as long as your gluteal anatomy allows for it. You should speak with your surgeon in detail about your goals and expectations.
You may be able to return to work after 2 to 3 weeks of the surgery depending on how strenuous your job is. You will be required to wear a compression garment for support for the first 2 to 3 weeks while you are in recovery.
Most patients notice significant improvements in the shape and size of their buttocks immediately. However, results can take anywhere from 3 to 4 months to manifest fully. You need to wait for the bruising and swelling to reduce completely to experience final results.
The results of a butt implant surgery are generally permanent, especially when performed by an experienced cosmetic surgeon. Enhanced buttocks are susceptible to changes overtime due to natural aging. But, they rarely need to be replaced unless there is some complication. Female cosmetic surgeon Dr. Kristi Hustak receives patients from Houston, Texas, and nearby areas for buttock implants surgery.

Aging, environmental factors, and genetic markers can make some women experience sagging breasts along with a significant reduction in breast volume. This can cause the breasts to look deflated and make the woman appear older. Breast augmentation mastopexy or BAM successfully combines breast augmentation with a breast lift procedure. Your plastic surgeon will recommend this procedure if you are looking for a more youthful upper body.
The cosmetic surgery effectively combines two different procedures reducing the overall down time and risk factors. Talk to your surgeon during your consultation about the surgical technique they will use for your procedure. Board certified female plastic surgeon Dr. Kristi Hustak provides breast augmentation mastopexy to patients in Houston, Texas, and surrounding locations.
Breast augmentation mastopexy involves placing implants to restore fullness in the upper breast region. At the same time, your surgeon will also tighten the breast tissues and reposition the nipple-areola complex to a more youthful and elevated level. The plastic surgery is beneficial from both a reconstructive as well as a cosmetic viewpoint.
You can say goodbye to scooped-out looking breasts and acquire fuller, more projecting, perkier breasts. A few pertinent issues that a breast augmentation mastopexy procedure resolves are:
Your surgeon will carry out the breast augmentation mastopexy procedure after administering general anesthesia. Incisions will be created on your breasts in discreet locations. This can be under the breast crease or around the areolas. In some cases, vertical incisions may need to be made from the lower half of the areola to the breast fold. Generally, crescent incisions are made. However, if your breasts sag significantly, a lollipop incision may be necessary.
The plastic surgeon will insert breast implants through these incisions. Your surgeon will also excise any loose skin and bring the breast tissues closer for a more lifted or perkier appearance. They will adjust the implants to ensure that everything looks natural and as per your aesthetic goals.
Once the surgery is performed, the surgeon will close the incisions using sutures. This combined surgery allows you to get the results of two different procedures with subsequently less scarring.
Your surgeon may also be able to increase your cleavage size. This will usually be done after inserting the breast implants. The shape, size and type of implants used depend on your aesthetic goals and anatomical needs. It is vital that you speak with the surgeon about all your expectations and goals for them to develop a customized plan before the surgery.
Recovery for a breast augmentation mastopexy is similar to the downtime involved in a breast lift procedure or breast augmentation plastic surgery. You should be able to return to work within two weeks of the surgery.
However, it’s critical that you refrain from carrying out any strenuous activities, participate in any sports, roughhouse with your children, lifting heavy weights, for instance. Female cosmetic surgeon Dr. Kristi Hustak receives patients from Houston, Texas, and nearby areas for breast augmentation mastopexy.

Lymphedema being a heterogeneous disease, surgeons create customized treatment regimens for each patient based on how the condition manifests. Standardized and repeated tests will be essential to measure the limb circumference and special diagnostic tests will also be performed.
Board certified female plastic surgeon Dr. Kristi Hustak provides lymphedema treatments to patients in Houston, Texas, and surrounding communities.
Once you are diagnosed with lymphedema, your doctor will recommend the following non-invasive modes of treatment:
The success of post-surgical advanced manual lymphatic drainage massage lies in its gentleness. Most experts believe that heat and deep massage are counterproductive in a post-surgical setting; thus, it is important that you NOT substitute deep tissue massage, Swedish massage, or other massage technique for this advanced treatment. Your specific treatment plan—including when to begin advanced MLD and how frequently you should receive treatments—will depend on the surgical procedure you had and your unique state of health.
Post-surgical MLD is an advanced technique requiring specialized training, and should only be performed by a licensed massage therapist. If you have had—or if you are planning to have—a mastectomy or a cosmetic procedure such as a facelift or liposuction.
Read more about post surgery massage for MLD.
Surgeons look for the following characteristics when recommending you for this procedure:
During the consultation for lymphedema surgery, the cosmetic surgeon performs a thorough examination of your extremities to take measurements and assess the quality of your skin and the degree of fibrosis. They also take photographs to record the appearance before surgery.
The surgeon will then explain the different lymphedema surgery options and recommend the one that is best for your condition. They also discuss the probable outcome of the surgery and make sure you understand the risks and potential complications that may arise during or following the procedure.
Based on the specific manifestation of the condition in a given patient, surgeons may use one of the following surgery techniques to give the best outcomes:
Vascularized Lymph Node Transfer
In patients who have undergone radiation therapy or lymph node dissection, the lymph node basins may cease to function. Such patients are good candidates for a vascularized lymph node transfer (VLNT).
In this procedure, the surgeon harvests donor lymph nodes from another part of the patient’s body such as the neck and lower abdomen. Using microsurgery techniques, the surgeon transfers the lymph nodes along with the associated blood supply system and fatty tissue into the extremities affected by lymphedema.
Lymphaticovenular anastomosis
Lymphaticovenular anastomosis (LVA) is a technique that creates a bypass to connect the small lymphatic vessels directly to the nearby venules. This helps to redirect excess lymphatic fluid into the veins of the affected leg or arm.
Surgeons make small incisions on the affected limb and use a surgical microscope to magnify the area below the skin. They locate the tiny lymphatic vessels and connect them to the venules to allow shunting of the lymphatic fluid.
Ablative Procedures
Surgeons may also perform ablative procedures to remove excess soft tissue and skin that reduces bulk and makes it easier to maintain hygiene. Patients in advanced stage of the disease with significant fibrosis are considered for these procedures.
Female cosmetic surgeon Dr. Kristi Hustak receives patients from Houston, Texas, and nearby areas for lymphedema treatments.

Despite following a proper diet and regular exercise, some individuals find themselves unable to lose fat from the upper thigh. They may consider a thigh lift to remove the excess skin and fat from the thigh region to improve its contours.
Some surgeons recommend a liposuction in combination with re-contouring of the inner thigh for best results. However, it will depend on the patient’s commitment to maintain these results by following a healthy lifestyle through a balanced diet and regular exercise.
Board certified female plastic surgeon Dr. Kristi Hustak provides thigh lift cosmetic surgery to patients in Houston, Texas, and surrounding locations.
A thigh lift plastic surgery is ideal for candidates with the following concerns:
Thigh lift procedures can be of two types – an inner (medial) thigh lift or an outer (lateral) thigh lift.
Inner Medial Thigh Lift
Here, the surgeon makes an incision in the groin region and through it, removes excess fat and skin to give a better contour to the inner thigh. In patients with greater fatty deposits, they may decide to also perform a liposuction. Then, they re-contour the part extending from the groin to the knee. The same procedure is repeated on the outer thigh region.
Outer (Lateral) Thigh Lift
This cosmetic procedure is more complex and requires a reshaping of the buttocks and the outer thigh region. More tissue is removed during this surgery which can cause the skin to grow less elastic. Maintaining the ideal weight post-surgery is therefore critical to the success of this procedure. There may also be greater scarring than with the inner thigh lift.
In an inner thigh lift surgery, the surgeon makes incisions in the groin region. But if greater amount of sagging skin has to be removed, they may choose to make the incision longitudinally along the line of the inner thigh.
In an outer thigh lift, the incision extends from the groin, moves around the hip and in some cases, even covers the buttock fold region. Experienced cosmetic surgeons ensure that the incisions are placed in areas where the scars can be concealed well with clothing.
Immediately after the thigh lift surgery, patients begin to notice that the contours of their thigh have a new smooth and younger appearance than before. Most patients resume their regular activities after a week to 10 days of surgery.
However, there will be an initial period of soreness, bruising and inflammation around the sites where incisions were made. This gradually resolves over the next 3 to 5 weeks. Most surgeons advise their patients to wear compression garments to provide the new contours with the necessary support.
Female cosmetic surgeon Dr. Kristi Hustak receives patients from Houston, Texas, and nearby areas for thigh lift surgery.

Breast revision surgery is performed to either correct complications from a previous breast augmentation procedure or to change the type or size of implants. While the specifics of the revision procedure vary from one patient to another, the overall objective of breast revision is to restore the youthful contours of the breast.
Board certified female plastic surgeon Dr. Kristi Hustak provides breast revision surgery to patients in Houston, Texas, and surrounding communities.
Breast revision surgery may be performed with the following goals in mind:
In an implant removal surgery, the breast implants are removed but there is no insertion of a new implant. Some patients choose to undergo a breast lift along with the implant removal to remove excess skin and lift the breasts to avoid their sagging after surgery.
In an implant exchange procedure, the surgeon removes implants that were inserted during an earlier breast augmentation. New implants are inserted in their place to give the breasts a youthful appearance. This exchange may be carried out on one or both breasts.
Implant exchange is a simpler process as compared to implant removal with lesser risk of infection and bleeding. However, in patients who suffer pain or other medical conditions such as autoimmune diseases, implant removal is a better choice.
Breast revision is a complex plastic surgery procedure and must be performed only by plastic surgeons with board certification and many years of experience in breast procedures.
Some patients request smaller sized implants to replace the larger initial implants. Following such a surgery, it is possible that the breasts take on a saggy appearance. In order to ensure that the breast retains its attractive, youthful appearance, a cosmetic surgeon may advise these types of patients to undergo a breast lift along with the breast revision procedure.
Recovery from an implant exchange procedure is faster and easier than during the initial breast augmentation surgery. In surgeries where the breast implant is totally removed, the surgeon may also have to eliminate significant amount of scar tissue, and this can cause longer recovery times with slightly greater discomfort.
Mild pain medications may be prescribed by the surgeon to deal with the discomfort and pain in the first week after surgery. Most patients get back to their normal routine activities within a week to 10 days of the surgery. However, it may take a little longer for the sore feeling in the breasts to fade away.

Fatty pockets and sagging skin around the eyelids can give your eyes a tired look and make you appear old. Blepharoplasty, which is a cosmetic surgery to lift the eyelid can diminish this effect, giving your eyes a more young and rested appearance.
Eyelid lift surgery can also help those with vision defects due to some obstruction being caused by the upper eyelids. Board certified female plastic surgeon Dr. Kristi Hustak provides blepharoplasty to patients in Houston, Texas, and surrounding locations.
Blepharoplasty is a plastic surgery that may also provide functional benefits. This procedure is performed on the lower or upper eyelid to treat the following conditions:
Some people suffer from a condition called ptosis which is a droopiness of the upper eyelids. When this combines with loose skin over the eyelid, it makes the eyes appear partly closed even when the person is fully awake. Such persons are a good candidate for upper eyelid surgery.
Patients who have tired eyes are also a good fit for upper eyelid surgery that ‘lifts’ the area to give a youthful appearance. If you have puffy bags under the eyes, the surgeon will advise a lower eyelid blepharoplasty to remove the excess skin.
Based on the anatomical structure of the patient’s eye, and their aesthetic goals, the surgeon recommends surgery of only the upper or lower eyelid or both. In some cases, patients may need a brow lift too to completely remove the saggy appearance.
The surgeon typically uses general anesthesia and performs blepharoplasty on an outpatient basis. The entire surgery takes less than two hours to complete.
After the administration of the anesthetic, the surgeon makes tiny incisions in areas around the eye in such a way that any scars left after recovery stay concealed. For lower lid blepharoplasty, the incision is placed along the line of the lower lash while for upper lid surgery, it is made in the crease of the upper eyelid.
The surgeon excises skin and excess fat from the region around the eyes. They also tighten the muscles below the skin to give the area a toned appearance.
After the blepharoplasty procedure, the surgeon will advise you to get enough rest while keeping your head upright. You will have to use cold compresses to deal with the initial bruising and swelling. Most surgeons also prescribe an ointment to be applied to the operated area to reduce irritation.
While it may be possible to resume work within a week of the surgery, the bruising and inflammation will need more time to resolve. Most patients find that after two weeks of the blepharoplasty procedure, their eyes begin to look rested, younger, and more beautiful. Female cosmetic surgeon Dr. Kristi Hustak receives patients from Houston, Texas, and nearby areas for blepharoplasty.
